Yesterday, Joe and I went on a 5 hour tour of LOST filming locations (and also the location of several movies). We got up entirely too early, and I was upset that the sun was up that early too. At 7 a.m., we were picked up at a hotel downtown in a Hummer and began our tour. We saw where they filmed the marina - you know, where Ben goes and shoots Desmond - and "Oxford". I say it like that because they actually filmed it at a prep school in Honolulu. Still very pretty, and I'm actually kind of impressed at the way it was filmed, because the school is tiny! I didn't get to take pictures of those, unfortunately. I'm going to go ahead and warn you: this is a picture heavy post!
This is Anthony Cooper's house, minus the guard. They built that for the show. Note: this is actually someone's house. It's on a very tiny, winding road that feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. Not too far up the street is where some jungle filming was done.
This is a very popular building! It was used to film the scene where Echo shot the drug dealer in the bar/cantina thing, and also where Sayid is working in Santo Domingo.
This is the area in front of the above building. This was used for the filming of 50 First Dates, Tears of the Sun, You, Me & Dupree and probably other movies I can't think of right now.
The pier where the sub is located. The pier for the sub is actually filmed in 2 locations. This location is also used for the Korean fishing village (along with the building 2 pictures above) where Jin's dad lives.
This is where most of the pier scenes were done. They actually built this for the show and left it behind when they were done. =) This was the last place we went before heading to Kualoa Ranch, where most of the filming for LOST (and a bazillion other movies) was done.
This is Jacob's house. {Our guide and the couple we were with said this is in Season 6, which I'm currently watching. I'm leaving it up to y'all to verify this! ;-)}
Joe and I at Jacob's house. Gotta love the view of those mountains too.
This was our ride for the day. Good thing too, 'cause it was a bumpy trip! {Totally reminded me of our back-roading, driving around in "the bottoms" days. Melissa, you know what I'm talkin' about!! ;-) Bahaha! The rest of you...this is a story for another day...lol!}
Joe standing where Anna Lucia realized that Goodwin was one of "The Others."
Hope y'all had a good weekend!Due to repeated problems uploading pictures with Blogger, I'm gonna have to leave it here. Sorry. =( Is anyone else having this issue? It seems like once I add 10 pictures, Blogger doesn't want to cooperate anymore and crashes my browser (Mozilla AND Safari). So, if you want to see more pictures, they're all posted on my Facebook page with captions. I freakin' hate this.
Issues with Blogger aside, this tour was fantastic! There were a bunch of movies filmed at Kualoa, including: 50 First Dates, You, Me & Dupree, Tears of the Sun, Windtalkers, Jurassic Park, Godzilla, George of the Jungle, Pearl Harbor and more that I can't remember. =) If you're coming to Oahu anytime soon, I highly recommend going on this tour...especially if you're a die-hard LOST fan. It was so much fun! And despite the fact that hubby got our car towed for parking in a no parking zone because he didn't want to have to pay for parking...ha. There's irony for ya, yesterday was a very fun day!
Never watch Lost....But great photos nonetheless!
