Losin' It

This evening, a HUGE earthquake hit Japan. They've qualified it as a "mega" earthquake. It was an 8.8.

Now, the entire Pacific is on tsunami watch. As of right now, Hawaii is under a Tsunami Warning and it's expected to hit around 0300 Hawaii time (8 ET/7CT). I've also heard that some states on the west coast have issued warnings.

I'm going nuts over here. Technically, I should NOT have to evacuate. I am on pretty high ground here. I've heard that some people in my housing area have evacuated to the nearest Army post (where Joe's actually stationed), but the MPs haven't knocked on my door yet. Considering we're at such a high elevation and the evacuation map doesn't tell us to evacuate I have a feeling it's not likely I'll need to. However, that doesn't mean I'm not freaking the heck out.

I grew up in Oklahoma. Earthquakes and huge waves are completely foreign to me. Thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail - these things I can handle. Let me hide in a closet, bathroom or cellar. I'd take that any day over this!!!

I'm gonna keep this short because I'm too ADD to keep writing. Please just say a prayer for all of the islands that will be affected, including Hawaii. Also, please pray for all of the soldiers who are deployed. Right now, we're being told that it will be very difficult for them to contact us. My phone is currently not working because of high traffic, so I can imagine what it would be like if Joe tried to call.

All of the important people have been emailed and know that I may be out of contact tomorrow.

Lord willing, everything will be fine in the morning. They're talking like this is very possible, but I'm praying that if it does hit, that it's not as bad as they are predicting. God is big and strong and He can handle this!!

Pray, pray, pray!!! I'll update when I can!
