It's Monday, so why not start the week off right?
I got up (around 9ish, oh well), had some breakfast...and talked myself into getting off the couch and into my workout clothes. I gathered up the laundry, detergent and all that junk and went down to the office area. I put my laundry in the washer, and walked to the mini-gym. I did about 20 mins on the elliptical...not what I should be doing, but it's hard to get back into the swing of things. So, here's what I've decided (and I think I may have blogged about this before, so stick with me!):
1. I need to work out 3-4 times a week.
2. I seriously need to start counting calories again...whether I like it or not.
3. I'm going to listen to Christian music while I work out because it gives me more encouragement than anything else.
Here is my inspiration for today:
"The Time Has Come" - Hillsong {LOVE them!}

Chorus:
Today today it's all or nothing
All the way
The praise goes out to You
Yeah all the praise goes out to You
Today today I live for one thing
To give You praise
In everything I do
Yeah all the praise goes out to You
So, on a bit of a sidenote...I'm a little irritated by what I
saw/heard on the Today Show today. Kathie Lee and Hoda
had Valerie Burtenelii on to talk about her weight loss and
that photo in whatever magazine she was in. I wasn't really
paying attention. Anyway, then Kathie (I think) asked her
about her faith and if she had gone "back" to her Catholic f
aith (apparently she was raised Catholic...no biggie, just fyi).
Then she said "Well, I consider myself a Christian...I read my
Bible [occassionally]...I pray because it makes me feel good."
My response: WTHeck!?
"I pray because it makes me feel good." <-- NOT a valid reason
to pray OR read your Bible!!! Ugh, it makes me so irritated when
people in Hollywood or in the media talk about religion/faith. It
always seems like they try to be so P.C. While they're being P.C.
and doing Christianity the way the world wants them to, the rest
of us are having our faith diminished. I pray because I want and
NEED to talk to God. I read the Bible because I need His words
of encouragement, correction, hope and promises. I do these
things so that I have a working relationship with God; so I do
want He wants me to, not what the world wants me to do.
Thank you for listening to my rant. =)
Sarah - Thanks for joinging my site and putting my button on your blog! Good luck on the exercise I'm still trying to get motivated!!! Bake or Exercise?!??! I think I will bake HA!
ReplyDeleteHaha I love that. :] Getting into the routine of it is difficult. I have gotten out of the routine lately due to grueling practices of the church's Christmas Program, lol. No seriously - 5 hour practices for the leaders because we have to be at every one to teach the dances and dramas, lol! However...Christmas is over. hahaha So, I am right there with ya girl - as soon as I'm not sick with the flu any longer - Exercise routine it is!!! ;-]
