Snippets: What Happens When You're Tired

Joe's been working long hours for a couple weeks now. Nothing surprising or even out of the ordinary these days. {And just for the record, all this stuff has been going on for about a year now. Loooove the Army. Hope you caught the sarcasm there.} Either because of the long hours or just because we're both a little crazy...these things have happened in our house recently.

Scene: Getting ready for bed. I notice he has some sort of code written on his hand.

Me: They let you leave with stuff like that written on your hand, but you can't have your phone because it's COMSEC?

Joe: It's actually OPSEC, but, yeah.

Me: Oh, whatever. Seems like it's more like OPEH...

Joe: OPMEH - you know, do whatever you want.

Me: OP whatevs. It's cool.

Both: *die laughing*

Hahahaha!!! If you followed that...kudos.

Scene: I had just finished pumping and we were about to get ready for bed.

Me: Hey, can you do this? I need to put the milk away.

Joe: I thought that's what you did when you put your shirt on.

Me: Ha ha. Very funny.

Ah, the joys of breastfeeding. It makes life more interesting. Or something like that.

This one's a bit more complicated. He had taken his dishes and then went to get clothes and get dressed for work. He left, I put the baby to bed and then....

I found his dishes in the bathroom! Y'all. I laughed so hard when I found this!!! Normally I'm the one trying to put things in weird places! {Like putting the milk in the microwave... Or cereal in the fridge.} So of course, I had no choice but to text him.

His response is even better than finding his dishes in a random spot! LOL! I even asked him what kind of experiment it was, and he told me not to worry about it. Haha! I think he was embarrassed... Shhhhh.  Don't tell him I blogged about it! Of course, if you follow me on Instagram, you already know this. But I thought it was worth sharing a second time. ;-)

So, what happens when you're tired?

Snippets

Woah. It's been a while since I've made an appearance on the blog! Suffice it to say we had a very good, very busy time on the mainland. It was full of time with family and friends. Despite Charlotte and I having colds  most of the time there, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. I'm in the process of uploading and editing the gazillion photos I took while we were there. {It was her first Christmas, after all.} So until that gets done, I've got a little something to share with you.

When you spend a lot of time with your spouse, hilarity often ensues. Or is that just the case in our house? Anyway, we had an abundance of time together over the holidays. Joe has been so busy lately with work that we barely get a few hours in the evening together and our weekends always seem so rushed. So I guess our sillies came out when we had a lot of time alone... See for yourself.

One night while whispering quietly in the hall so as to not wake the baby...

Me: Come with me!
Joe: *looks confused* What? Comb your feet?
Me: *dies laughing* Yes, that's what I said. I want you to comb my feet! *laughs again* No, come with me!

In the car on the way to pick up Chick Fil A, looking at houses and cars on the road...

Me: I think that could be a Pontiac SunFire.
Joe: *pauses* A potty is on fire?
Me: Seriously?! *laughs* Yes, yes. I see a potty on fire.

I mean, really? How does he come up with these things?!

And because I can't have a blog post without a picture...

This is us being suffocated by one of my SIL's dog's stinky gas. They were on their way back from New England, so we took a picture and sent it to her. :)

Anyone else get the sillies when you spend a lot of time with your hubby?

It's a Good Thing...

Joe and I have a lot of fun together. We don't even need to go out somewhere to have a whole lot of laughs, which is a good thing with a baby around. {She provides us with some laughs too!}

Case in point:

Scene: Snuggling on the couch together watching TV while baby naps.

Sarah: *reaches over to get something off Joe's face.*
Joe: What are you doing?!
Sarah: Stop moving! You have hair on your face!
Joe: *dies laughing* Oh, really? Thanks for that astute observation, CPT Obvious. *salutes*
Sarah: *dies laughing* No, you had my hair on your face!!!

Both continue laughing for about 5 minutes.

Sarah: You have hair on your face!!! Bahahahaha!

Later....

Yeah... It's a good thing we're married. I'm not sure anyone else would put up with one of us! LOL!

I hope that our poor kids {obviously we plan to have more} are able to join in on the silliness. Otherwise they're going to have pretty rough childhoods, enduring their parents' crazy. ;-)
