Prego Package

Before we get to the main reason for this post, I have something I want to poll/ask you guys about. You may remember that last year I started a Fall Foto Contest (If you're new, just click the link. =)). Since I'm clearly not going to be experiencing fall yet again this year, I'd like to host the contest again. That is, if there's any interest in it. So the question is, would you be interested in sending in/seeing fall photos? Please let me know!!!

This photo got me thinking about doing the contest again. Gorgeous.

On Saturday, I decided it was time to check the mail. I had completely forgotten to check it...all week. And whaddaya know? I got a package!

You guys know how much I love getting packages, right? During Joe's deployment, I sent a bazillion care packages to him. Somewhere along the way, my fabulous SIL, Anna, sent me a care package. It was awesome! She also sent this one to me. =) And even though her last package had more goodies this one meant a bit more. Here's what she sent:

Sweetest card EVER, cocoa butter lotion, preggie pops (hallelujah!) and chocolate.

And - as she put it - "a pretty maternity dress to show off that bump!"
Oh, and please disregard the pile of laundry on the right...

The card was on top {and addressed to both of us, so we both read it} and I opened it first. She really must know I like cards and read them before opening any package. =) After I read the card, I was a bit teary-eyed. Then I opened the rest of the package...and pulled out the dress and told Joe, "I think I'm going to cry!" Then I proceeded to cry. Ah, hormones. They're really great. ;-)

Seriously, though, who thinks to send a prego care package?! I probably wouldn't have. And I'm fairly certain I didn't send her one when she was pregnant last time! It was very sweet and thoughtful. I feel pretty lucky to have gained a sister {yeah, I claim her even though she's Joe's sister ;-)} and friend like her when I married Joe. Actually, I think I really lucked out in the in-law department altogether.

Hope y'all are having a great week!

Happy Mail

Have I ever mentioned that getting packages in the mail is like the best thing ever?! If not, let me say it again: best. thing. EVER! ;-) Now that we've gotten that out of the way...

I got some very happy mail today. Somehow, I'd kind of forgotten that my MIL sends us Easter packages/gifts. Usually just little, cute things. Sometimes they're more like things that are "awww, cute" but end up getting chunked as soon as Easter's come and gone. Fortunately, this year's is pretty awesome. =)

Peanut M&M's!! And in pretty colors!! Pretty sure I said "Oh, I love that woman" when I opened the package and saw those. Haha. =) Can you tell that I love chocolate and that Aunt Flo is hanging around?! Not only are they yummy, they also look good in a jar. Hehe.

Aren't they cute?!

The other two egg thingies are actually little plants!! The directions say to crack the top of the eggs with a spoon and remove it. Then, you water it and place it in the sun. The pink one is an impatient and the purple one is a pansy (the flower, people ;-)). I can't wait to see them grow!! I'm also a little worried that I'll kill them, though. I have a bad habit of ignoring plants and letting them die after a while. But, since I really want to make our yard look nice, I guess I might want to think about changing that, huh?!

I also bought myself a little goodie today...before I knew I had the goodies from my MIL.

I have seriously fallen in love with macadamia nuts since we moved here. Especially chocolate and macadamia nuts. I expected these to taste exactly like what you'd think Hershey's Kisses and macadamia nuts... Except that they taste pretty much like chocolate covered macadamia nuts from Mauna Loa or any other Hawaiian company that makes them and they're just shaped like Kisses. Oh well. Still a win for me. ;-)

I think some happy mail and a little bit of chocolate was a great way to finish off my day. =) And don't worry, I think I'm going to make a call to my MIL tomorrow to make sure she gets proper thanks.

Hope you're having a great week so far!

Snail Mail!

I don't know why, but I love getting fun mail. A card, a little note, a postcard (like the one I got from my hubby), or a box. I especially love getting boxes!! Boxes mean goodies. Sometimes they mean goodies I ordered. Today, I got a goodie box from my bestie!! And, oh, was it EVER full of goodies!

Just to show you how BIG it is...
Can you believe that they left this in one of the mail lockers?!
I had to carry this BEAST all the way back to my house.
Seriously, it weighed a ton. I'm thinking like 20 lbs.
Jasper weighs 16 and he is light compared to that box.
My house is like 4 houses down from the mailboxes. Grrrrr.
I'm considering calling the post office about this.

She left me a little note. =)

Sheets! Woohoo!

Look at all those goodies!

There was fabric...

This will be a little somethin' for my momma.

This will be a little something for me...
Well, for future babies, really.

There were journals.
Hallelujah!

A sweet invitation to a baby shower...

This will be a cover for my Nook. Eventually.

Extra fabric that Melissa didn't want.

Scrapbooking stuff!!!! Woohoo!
It's really for her, but I'm kind of excited about making a new scrapbook.

Needless to say, I'm going to have plenty of projects for a while. =) I actually have another one I'm thinking of doing, but I don't have the fabric for it. Plus, I'm sure I'm going to be busy working on other things.

While we're talking of mail, I finally got paired up with some lovely ladies who are participating in a fun little swap! Jessica from Jesstagirl and Her Officer came up with a fabulous idea: a postcard swap!

I signed up along with a bunch of other ladies and we all got paired up! Now, we just send out a postcard and wait to get our own. I'm kind of excited about it. I can't wait to see where mine is from! I'm sure my lucky person will be excited to get one from here too. I mean, who wouldn't, right?!

In other news, today has been a good day. I did Pilates, went to the musuem, carried that heavy freakin' package in and got to talk to my hubby via Skype for an hour! Today was his day off, thank goodness. =) Since he "called" so early, the connection was better than usual and we were able to actually hold a conversation! He got to watch me make dinner (pancakes, yum!), and then we sat down at the table and he got to watch me eat too. Lol! It was almost like having dinner together.... Almost.

All in all, I think it was a good day! Happy Hump Day!

P.S. Don't forget to start sending me this week's photos for the Fall Foto Contest!
